Jyotish, a Sanskrit word meaning “Science of Light,” is the ancient Indian system encompassing Astrology, Astronomy, Meteorology, and Numerology. The science is a continually evolving field, and as new planets/methods are discovered, they are to be investigated and incorporated into the body of knowledge. Human Design is a relatively recent revelation that originated in 1987. It provides a mapping of the planetary positions against the chakras (energy centers) in the body. In his talk, Prasannan, a Vedic Astrologer, will give an overview of the Human Design system, including the Body Graph, Nine Centers, the Five Types, Thirty-Six Channels, Sixty-Four Gates, and the Twelve Profiles. Example charts of famous people will be used to illustrate the principles.
