Join us for a transcendent Summer Solstice Celebration with internationally renowned electric cellist and composer Jami Sieber, singing bowl artist Agu, and author and teacher Isa Gucciardi, Ph.D. The summer solstice is the day of the year when the sun reaches its highest point in the sky, creating the longest day of the year. Throughout history, the sun has been a focal point of worship for many cultures and the solstice has been a time of celebration, promise, and expansion externally as well as internally.
In this sound journey, you will have the opportunity to connect to your own internal source of light and align with the natural rhythms of the season. Isa will give a short talk on the solstice, helping you connect with this age-old cycle and focusing your meditation. Then you will be transported by the sublime music of Jami and Agu, whose sonic landscapes will support your meditation, enabling you to dive deeply into your experience. There will be space to lie down and get comfortable as you open your heart and mind and immerse yourself in this remarkable field of sound and light.
Jami Sieber is an internationally renowned electric cellist and composer. Her music moves beyond the surface and reaches inside the soul with compositions that are contemporary, timeless, lush, and powerfully evocative. Jami’s compositions have appeared in film and television and the critically acclaimed video game Braid. Her life-long commitment to the environment, social justice, and the healing arts is at the heart of her music, reflecting a deep dedication to the arts as a medium to express the interconnectedness of all beings.
Agu is a singing bowl artist and celebrant. She calls in the sound of the singing bowls to propagate beauty. She uses the vibrations and oscillations of the singing bowls, tingshas, and chimes in tandem with the breath to musically guide the mind and body to relax, focus, create, and awaken the gifts within. She recently released her debut solo recording Reach In: Singing Bowl Offerings.
Isa Gucciardi, Ph.D., is the bestselling author of Coming to Peace and Return to the Great Mother, and the creator of the groundbreaking therapeutic model, Depth Hypnosis. She holds degrees and certificates in transpersonal psychology, cultural and linguistic anthropology, comparative religion, hypnotherapy, and transformational healing. She has spent over 30 years studying spiritual, therapeutic, and meditative techniques from around the world, and has worked with master teachers of Buddhism, Christianity, Judaism, and Sufism, as well as expert shamanic practitioners from the traditions of Hawaii, indigenous North and South America, Siberia, and Nepal. Isa teaches nationally and internationally and is the Founding Director of the Foundation of the Sacred Stream.
