Excerpts

In Depth Hypnosis we are trying to understand ourselves at the deepest level. We are especially seeking clarity on the difficult places within us, the aspects we don’t understand and the elements within us that cause us to suffer emotionally, mentally, physically, and even spiritually. When we begin to look honestly at these places, we have stepped on to a path of consciousness … When we are on this path, we inevitably encounter our wounding, places where we’ve become split off from ourselves, and patterns that do not serve us. And in discovering this, we naturally begin healing these places in ourselves. By gently, yet consistently, holding us as we navigate the imbalance of our internalized pain, Depth Hypnosis allows us to safely and courageously face what lies in the shadows of our psyches so that we can begin the process of transformation.
The word “depth” in “Depth Hypnosis” refers not to the depth of the trance we work with in session, but to the depths of the self that are revealed to us when we engage with the process. We are going beyond the conscious mind, where our stories are held, where we know what we know, into an altered (expanded) state of consciousness, where the thinking mind relaxes and allows information hidden away in the subconscious mind and held in the body to come forward; information we may not have been aware of that brings insight and solutions for some of our most challenging problems.
In Depth Hypnosis, we tend to find that what needs to change is something we have misunderstood or told ourselves, consciously or unconsciously, about a past event. Usually, the event is harmful or traumatic in nature, though we may not have realized it at the time it occurred. When a misunderstanding of this kind happens, we begin to take actions that shape our lives in ways that are informed by the event. Often these patterns repeat unconsciously and have a negative impact on our lives. As we learn to recognize and manage our life energy, identify repeating patterns and the trauma that informs them, we can begin to do the work of healing from the imbalances they have caused.
