Sunday, February 24, Sacred Stream will present a very special concert in San Francisco with Windham Hill and Sony recording artist Lisa Lynne, and composer and multi-instrumentalist Aryeh Frankfurter. These two remarkable artists captivate audiences with masterful performances, humorous stories, music from Sweden and Ireland, and original works. Together, they have sold over a million albums and have performed with many of the biggest names in folk and acoustic music. They play a unique array of instruments, including the Celtic harp, Swedish nyckelharpa, Ukrainian bandura, and cittern. This promises to be an enchanting night of music and mastery you won’t want to miss!

Special Announcement: Pilot Study Presentation on the Efficacy Studies of Depth Hypnosis
On Friday, November 11, Dr. Joanna Adler will present the results of a pilot study – “Can Depth Hypnosis Heal Mood Disorders?” – that examines the efficacy of Depth Hypnosis in the treatment of the symptoms of depression, anxiety, and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), as well as show an increase in experience of well-being. The hypothesis of the study was that symptoms from the three mood disorders would go down, and experience of well-being would rise. The results support this hypothesis.

Windham Hill and Sony recording artist Lisa Lynne is joined by multi-instrumentalist Aryeh Frankfurter for an evening of traditional instrumental music from Sweden and Ireland, as well as heartwarming original compositions blended with stories of humor and adventure. Together they play two Celtic harps, the rare Swedish nyckelharpa, Ukrainian bandura, cittern, and more. Lisa Lynne’s recordings have repeatedly placed in the Top 10 and Top 20 on the Billboard New Age music charts. The Sacred Stream’s own award-winning songwriter and recording artist, Laura Chandler, opens the show.
Special Announcement: The Stages of the Path with Robert Thurman
Sunday, April 10th at 7:00 pm, Robert Thurman returns to the Sacred Stream Center for a talk on Lam Rim, the three principle aspects of the path to enlightenment based on Atiśa’s 11th-century root text and Je Tsongkahpa’s The Great Treatise on the Stages of the Path to Enlightenment. Dr. Thurman has a deep understanding of this text and will share his insights covering topics that include the preciousness of human life, the importance of maintaining a positive attitude, and the intention of the bodhisattva. We hope you will join us for this every special evening.

Special Announcement: Sarod Master Rajeev Taranath in Concert
One of India’s renowned music masters, sarod virtuoso Rajeev Taranath, brings a rare performance of classical South Asian music to the Sacred Stream Center on Thursday, November 5th at 7:00 pm in Berkeley.
Taranath is a master of the sarod, a four-stringed lute central to classical northern Indian music. He has drawn accolades from critics and audiences throughout the world. Accompanied by percussionist Vikas Yendluri on the tabla, he will perform ragas: intricate, colorfully improvised melodies and rhythms.
Special Announcement: Isa Gucciardi and Robert Thurman Teaching Together at Menla
Robert Thurman and Isa Gucciardi will be co-teaching three fantastic workshops together starting this fall at Menla Center for Health and Happiness.
