Meet us at the intersection of Buddhism and Shamanism!
Buddhism is an ancient wisdom system that originated in Nepal and India in about 500 BC and spread throughout Asia, and more recently, the world over the course of hundreds of years. Buddhist teachings focus on understanding the nature of suffering and offer practices to help people live a more peaceful life.
Shamanic practice, or Earth-based wisdom, is even more ancient, originating in many different cultures independently over the course of time. Shamanic practice emerged in different cultural contexts in different times and places, yet its focus on elucidating and applying the wisdom of the Earth offers a common and coherent system for modern people seeking spiritual balance.
Both systems of knowing have experienced a resurgence of interest over the last 50 years in the West – and both systems have much to offer the modern seeker in terms of insight, understanding, and healing.
How do shamanic and Buddhist teachings complement each other? How are they similar? How are they different? What insights can their teachings offer a modern seeker?
Isa Gucciardi, Ph.D., who has been practicing and teaching shamanism and Buddhism for many decades, will answer these questions and more in a lively conversation with Laura Chandler, the Executive Director of the Foundation of the Sacred Stream.
Bring your questions and curiosity and join them live on YouTube at 5:00 pm Pacific on Friday, April 14.
