Renowned Tibetan Buddhist teacher and humanitarian Geshe Pema Dorjee returns to the Bay Area and the Sacred Stream for a profound and timely discussion on cultivating a meaningful life. In an increasingly uncertain world, many seek a deeper understanding of their purpose and ways to make a lasting impact. Drawing from over 50 years of experience as a Tibetan Buddhist monk and teacher, Geshe Pema Dorjee will share invaluable insights on fostering happiness and living with greater intention. He will explore key Buddhist principles that can be easily integrated into daily life, offering practical wisdom for a more joyful and fulfilling existence. This event is available both in person and via live stream. Attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions, and those joining in person can participate in a special meet-and-greet afterward. All proceeds from this event will support Pema Dorjee’s Lungla Bodong Tashi Choeling Nunnery and School for Girls in Nepal.
About Geshe Pema Dorjee
Geshe Pema Dorjee is a widely respected spiritual teacher and former director of the Children’s Village in Dharamsala, where he spent over twenty years preserving Tibetan culture and education for children in exile. Born in Tibet, he fled with his family in 1959 at the age of five. His Holiness the Dalai Lama later entrusted him with reviving the Bodong tradition of Tibetan Buddhism. He earned his Geshe degree from the Drepung Loseling Monastery in 1995 and was appointed by the Tibetan government in exile to be both a Higher-Level Textbook Review Committee member and a spiritual counselor for former political prisoners.
A tireless humanitarian, Geshe Pema Dorjee devotes his time to fundraising and establishing essential humanitarian projects. His efforts have led to the creation of orphanages, schools, medical facilities, and community centers for underserved populations in Nepal, Tibet, and India.
